Journal1603 K Fri 5 Apr 2002The 2002 Roman Missal is a big book, weighing about 3 kilograms. The outer dimensions: 230 mm wide, 310 mm high and 83 mm thick. The spine has "MISSALE ROMANVM". The front cover has picture of Jesus in gold and the back cover has a gold cross. It has five red ribbons. The beginnings of ten of the Eucharistic Prayers have maroon tabs, with 23 red tabs on the pages between them. The pages are 210 mm x 300 mm (only slightly taller than A4 pages which are 210 mm x 297 mm, or 8.27 inches x 11.69 inches). The pages are a cream colour with printing in black and red. There are full page pictures in brown: such as of the last supper on page 2, the nativity on 152, and the crucifixion on 570. The last numbered page is 1318. But there are two pages after that. One has: TYPIS VATICANIS EXCVSVM EST DIE VIGESIMA SECVNDA FEBRVARII A.D. MMII IN FESTO CATHEDRAE SANCTI PETRI APOSTOLI I am unsure what this means. There is some particular significance in the date 22 February 2002, the feast of the "Chair of Peter the Apostle". Copyright J.R. Lilburne, 5 April 2002. Last updated 6 April 2002. |
