Archbishop Hart sits to sing Gloria

Today Archbishop Hart sat for the singing of the Gloria at the 11.00 a.m. Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral.

The Roman Missal requires people to stand for this hymn. Last Sunday Father Burns Huggans did this, at this Mass. The Sunday before Father Gerard Dowling stood for it. In every other Catholic Church in Melbourne people would stand for this hymn.

Most of the congregation sat when Archbishop Hart sat, but I remained standing.

Sometimes at this Mass only the choir sing the Gloria, but this was not the case today, with the congregation singing part of it.
