Mass of the Lord's Supper

On 24 March 2005 an instituted lector read one of the readings at the Melbourne, Australia, cathedral.

Kieran Meade wore vestments, was seated in the sanctuary and was part of the processions at the beginning and end of Mass. He is a seminarian in his sixth year.

For this reading the instituted lector's role was performed as I have been asking for since A.D. 2000.

Archbishop Hart washed the feet of 12 men.

But there were imperfections. The first reading was not proclaimed by one of the instituted lectors present, but by a woman, who I recognised as Mary Hare. The Archbishop and most of the congregation were sitting when they were singing their part of the Gloria.
