Today Archbishop Hart stood for the singing of both the Kyrie and Gloria, at the 11.00 am Mass at St Patrick's cathedral.
Usually at this Mass, he sits for them. Today the response to the Kyrie was sung by the people, rather than by the choir. This was also the case on the other occassion that he stood for the Kyrie and Gloria, on 23 June 2002.
Hopefully he will continue to stand for them, as required by the Roman Missal.
Last year I wrote about people joining The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem on 19 August 2001. I was concerned about the Rite of Investiture taking place in Mass. Today it happened again and I remain concerned.
Three letters were read out in Mass. The first was appointing Archbishop Hart as Grand Prior of the Lieutenancy of Australia Southern. The other two letters told us about the order. There was an investiture of four knights and three dames.
